07/11/2022 Leipzig Book Fair 2023: Literally surprising! Finally, we are celebrating the art of reading again in Leipzig. For four days from 27 to 30 April 2023, authors and their new works, publishers, service companies and the entire world of books will be on show at the Leipzig Book Fair and Manga Comic-Con. In addition to well-established event formats, there will be new and much-needed opportunities for discussion at the Leipzig Book Fair and the accompanying reading festival "Leipzig liest". Austria is the Guest of Honour this year and will also be contributing. Our neighbouring country is staging a varied programme offering surprising new insights into a world we think we know very well. Cultural variety is at the core of the new concept of the area for children and teens in Hall 3. In a broadly based workshop programme, various initiatives will demonstrate how important reading and learning are in order to facilitate cultural education and participation in society. 09/08/2022 Registration for the Leipzig Book Fair Now Open Starting today, you can register for the Leipzig Book Fair together with Manga Comic-Con and the "Leipzig liest" reading festival. After being forced to take a break due to COVID-19, this spring event for the book and media industries is returning with a new concept in the exhibition halls, fresh programme items and adjusted registration deadlines. 16/05/2022 Leipzig Book Fair Pushed Back to April in 2023 The combination of the Leipzig Book Fair, Manga Comic-Con, Leipzig liest reading festival and the Leipzig Antiquarian Book Fair will take place from 27 to 30 April 2023. "In 2023, the Leipzig Book Fair will take place later than usual in both the exhibition halls and across the entire city of Leipzig", says Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe. "We will finally be able to celebrate the reading of books again with all our partners. The new dates in April offer the safest framework for us to continue our work on developing exciting concepts for this group of events." 09/02/2022 Leipzig Book Fair 2022 will not take place The desire for a personal meeting at Leipzig Book Fair was huge. But numerous cancellations of exhibitors within the past few days led to the fact that the expected quality and breadth of content of such a large public fair is no longer guaranteed. For these reasons, Leipziger Messe, in agreement with the Advisory Board, has decided to cancel the trade fair combination of the Leipzig Book Fair, Manga Comic Con, Leipzig Reads and Antiquarian Book Fair from March 17 to 20, 2022.
