BOOK ART AT Leipzig Book Fair

The creative and challenging designs in the Book Art section of Leipzig Book Fair invite guests to browse and participate, drawing a large number of visitors each year. Artists’ books, drawings and graphics, hand-printed books and artistic book projects are displayed which are only available in limited editions due to the artesanal techniques employed in their production.

The Book Art section includes art academies, museums of printed art, artists from the Printed Graphics Market Place and numerous stands decorated with artwork. The theme of the Book Art section is also closely connected to the Leipzig Used Book Fair, so that the presentation of this section at Leipzig Book Fair 2025 will again be presented together in Hall 5.

Art academies

The stands of the famous art academies are principally based on student projects which reflect the creativity of artistic representation. They show how diverse and imaginative the world of book art can be, and offer visitors a varied, colourful world of participatory activities.

Future students can also inform themselves about the various courses on offer at the academies in the surrounding regions.

Printed Graphics Market Place

Galleries, printers and artists present their graphic work and artistic editions in a specially created section.

The Printed Graphics Market Place is a paradise for collectors and connoisseurs of hand-crafted book art who are looking for those special pieces.

The Printed Graphics Market Place section consists of small stands at which artists can present and sell their original printed graphics. Printing processes, such as letterpress, gravure, offset and screen printing, or others, are used.
